2016 Goals

Every year in the past I have written or thought about resolutions. Things I wanted to stop or start after the clock struck twelve. This year my boyfriend, Austin and I have decided we want to make goals. Which means I said I have an idea and he didn't hate the idea. So we went to the grocery store on our way to a new years eve party and bought a notebook. We each wrote down our own goals in his car in a specs parking lot. It was a great start to a beautiful tradition. Most of our goals are things we hope to accomplish, like go away to college together, get in to nursing school for me, go to church together every Sunday which we tried to do last year but then life kind of took over by the end.
Some of my other personal goals were to learn a new language or two, travel more, finally start my novel and as a semi joke was to get engaged to Austin. He laughed slightly, but he knew I was serious in a way.
For 2016 I want to find a new hobby, a new place, and a new friend. While I also fall back in love with an old hobby, go back to an old place, and reconnect with an old friend.
If you have resolutions of your own I would love to hear them but I also hope that you stick to them and this year will be all that you hope for.

what is hidden..

I have been wrestling with the idea of deleting my old blog posts or just erasing this blog all together. That gets me thinking, why would I delete it? Because people won't know, because I want to hide that part of my life. Isn't that why everyone loves the internet...so the world can see the real you, but instead we try to hide behind filters in our instagram pictures, secret boards on pinterest, drafts on twitter, and deleting our emotions and middle school photos that are somehow still on facebook. Well I'm going to change that because even though I have changed and this blog is changing with me. My old posts just like everything else about me makes me, me. Or at least some part of me at some time..

And let's be honest you can re-read them and laugh..because that is what I'll be doing.

Here is a short disclaimer that goes along with this post very well. I'm not gonna hide the fact that I have no sense of punctuation. I must have been sick that day in elementary school. However I do love to write and therefore I'm going to write. So I hope you read my blog because you somehow relate to me or at least the words I type.

DIY Headphones

Hey y'all I'm back. I realize I have been gone forever, but I'm back and changing things up a bit. I will no longer have set days and will just be blogging about whatever whenever. I am always up for ideas if you have any comment down below.
Today I am going to be blogging about a DIY project I attempted at.

This is what the picture that I found on my pinterest looks like. I know you're thinking to yourself, what I good idea, I'm gonna try that. Stop right there. Let me tell you a few cons to this neat DIY project.
  1. I needed four different colors of embroidery floss. Which is a lot of string and that still wasn't enough. So my headphones don't go up all the way they stop probably about three fingers beneath the ear bud.
  2. It gets tangled and then the string breaks. At least mine did.
  3. It takes forever. On the website I found my tutorial, it said 6 hours. Mine took a lot longer then 6 hours.

Okay so my advice would to not do it, but I'm thinking about trying my other headphones. I know I'm probably crazy but it looks really cool and they don't get tangled.
Have you tried it? Please tell me your thoughts below.

Movie Monday: Deck the Halls

Favorite Christmas movie of all time is definitely Deck the Halls. If you haven't seen this movie, you need to go to the store and pick you up a copy.
Okay in reality it isn't that good of a movie, but I don't know why watching this movie completes my Christmas. It is about a man who lives a normal life, but is obsessed with Christmas. He gets a new neighbor and they do this whole fighting thing the whole movie over celebrating Christmas. It ends with them having a Christmas lights battle sorta.
Deck the Halls has some really good stars in the movie. Danny Devito who is from Matilda and Matthew Broderick who play Ferris Bueller in Ferris Bueller's Day Off, play the fighting neighbors. Their wives are played by Kristin Davis and Kristin Chenoweth who I am a big fan of.
This movie makes me laugh every time and I definitely recommend it to everyone. I want to know what your all time favorite Christmas movie is.

Tunes Tuesday: Last Christmas

My favorite Christmas song is Last Christmas which is originally done by Wham!. This is a very popular cover song. Some of the cover artists include, Ashley Tisdale, Billie Piper, Hilary Duff, Crazy Frog, The Maine, and Taylor Swift. That is just a third of the famous artists who have covered this song.
My favorite cover of the song is Taylor Swift's version, it has more of a pop feel then Wham!'s version and it's a very fun song to blast and sing along to.
If you are not a fan of Taylor Swift there is a girl I watch on YouTube name Bailie who does a cover of Taylor Swift's version of Last Christmas. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dE3EfRjf8E Bailie's YouTube name is Pawsonmagic and you should definitely check her out. Last Christmas is probably my favorite cover that she has done. I even think it's better then Taylor Swift's version.
I want your thoughts on the song and your favorite cover of Last Christmas.

Fashion Friday: Christmas Sweaters

Winter means all sorts of things, one of the things being Christmas sweaters, which nobody looks forward to. This year I have seen a bunch of cute Christmas sweaters. No they don't have flickering lights or a laughing reindeer. They are very simple, but still festive and I am definitely going to have to get one of these sweaters.
  1.

  2.

  3.

Each are different and not tacky Christmas. My favorite is the last one, but it is more expensive out of the three. I love love sweaters during the winter. You wear it over a pair of leggings(if the sweater is long enough to cover you) and you are all set.
I hope you like these sweaters. I found them on Wanelo.com it is a very cool fun website for shopping. This is my link for Wanelo.com http://wanelo.com/omgitsmesammy
